Distributive Property Of Equality 

 

The distributive property states thet the product of an expression and a sum is equal to the sum of the products of the expression and each term in the sum. For example, a(b+c)=ab+ac. The division property of inequality states thet two unequal values divided by a positive number retain the same relationship.

The distributive property of  multiplication over addition can be used when you multiply a number by a sum. For example, suppose you want to multiply 3 by the sum of 10+2. ... According to this property, you can add the numbers and then multiply by 3. 3(10+2) = 3(12) = 36.
